Hunt and Khumalo were previously together at SuperSport United, the pair helping Matsatsantsa to win three consecutive league titles between 2008 and 2010.
Khumalo also went on to captain the South African national team while earning himself a move to English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, who in turn loaned the player out to several
Championship clubs, as well as to Greek club PAOK.
The Manzini-born centre-back then returned to South Africa for the start of the current season, playing in nine league game and two cup encounters for Gordon Igesund’s SuperSport United side.
But just six months into his stay and the 29-year-old has now completed the short move from Tshwane to Johannesburg.
“Bongani is a quality player with whom both coach Gavin Hunt and I have worked with before and won league titles at Supersport United,” said Bidvest Wits FC Chief Executive Officer, Jose Ferreira.
“He will, undoubtedly bring immense value and experience to our squad and I have no doubt that his stay with us will be a huge success.”
